Starting off--the Maisel nut strikes again

Okay, okay, so I'm an old softy when it comes to Eric Maisel. I think sometimes the only way I've gotten the few stories published that I have was because, at some point, I read something that really revved my creative sparks.

And Maisel seems to do that--at least to me.

Yeah, I know--"real" writers don't need cheerleaders. Maybe at the end of this experiment, I will have gotten myself into enough of a schedule that I won't need a cheerleader either. But right now, I feel I need a guide--something no-nonsense to get me going and keep me on track.

For that reason, I've chosen to use Maisel's The Creativity Book. At some point, I think I mentioned it on the Pas'gulla Muse blog--I'm pretty sure it was in the first (and only, thusfar) podcast episode.

Anyway, the book's set up not only to inspire, but organize that inspiration so that, at the end of a year, you've got a finished product. Seems to fit perfectly into my plans here.
